About Me

An eclectic mix of original paintings, wire and glass sculptures, whimsical driftwood harbour scenes and clay jewellery. Inspired by the beautiful Dorset coastline and countryside, I visually interpret what I see by using a range of mediums: oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolour, wire, glass, driftwood, and clay. From paintings of tranquil scenes of the sun setting over the Fleet and Chesil beach, oystercatchers feeding along the shoreline (wire), to using the fragile medium of glass to depict the fragile coastline in the form of Durdle Door and Sea Stacks. Each driftwood harbour takes on a character of its own, after I have beachcombed the driftwood thrown up onto Chesil beach from stormy seas. And the clay jewellery takes inspiration from mixing a feeling of Bohemian style and Beachy holidays. For me I select the medium I feel can best portray a subject or feeling, and then the decision whether it needs a loose impressionist technique or leaning to more realism, to help create the final art piece.
